Setup using the Installer

Click to download the MDShellExtensionsSetup.exe located also in the Release area. The Installer works both for 32 and 64 bit system.

The preview of the Markdown Text Editor uses the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime, already present in Windows 11 and in the updated Windows 10 systems: the Setup installs also WebView2Loader.dll, needed to use it. If the WebView2 runtime is missing, the editor uses the internal HTML viewer.

The Setup installs also the Scripts folder with the libraries that draw math formulas (KaTeX) and mermaid diagrams, so the preview of the editor shows them also without an Internet connection.

For a clean Setup close all the windows explorer instances which have the preview handler active or the preview handler was used (remember the dll remains in memory until the windows explorer was closed).
