Manual Build and Installation (only for Delphi developers)

If you have Delphi 12 or 13, you can manually build the projects inside:

Source\SVGShellExtensionsGroup.groupproj

or build all the projects (Shell Extensions, SVG Text Editor and SVGToPNG, for 32 and 64 bit) with Build.bat.

Warning: To simplify build of the projects, the third parties libraries are located into Ext folder

• SVGIconImageList

• SynEdit

• VCL-Style-Utils

• StyledComponents

Please take care that you have the same versions of those libraries installed in your IDE, or use the packages inside those projects to build and install components.

Manual installation of the Shell Extensions

To manually install the SVGShellExtensions.dll follow these steps:

1. Close all the windows explorer instances which have the preview handler active or the preview handler was used (remember the dll remains in memory until the windows explorer was closed).

2. If you have already used the installer uninstall the components from system.

3. To install manually the dll run Bin64\Register64bit.bat (and Bin32\Register32bit.bat for the 32 bit version) as administrator.

4. If you want to uninstall the dll use Bin64\UnRegister64bit.bat (and Bin32\UnRegister32bit.bat).

5. When it's registered, you can continue to change code and rebuild the dll (beware to close all Explorer instances).

TIP

Unregister_Register.cmd, in the root folder of the project, unregisters and registers again both the 32 and 64 bit dll: notice that you must change the path into the cmd file.
